The Berkeley Lab’s Facilities Division is seeking a Scheduler to manage work order scheduling for various facility buildings. 

 

The Scheduler will ensure resources are available to complete science, preventive, corrective, and project-related work orders. They will also be responsible for creating reports and ensuring the scheduling process reflects management priorities.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate across departments to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Develop processes to improve work order scheduling.
  • Analyze data to ensure work order compliance.
  • Define and detail maintenance schedules for craft workers.
  • Work with various teams to develop a master schedule.
  • Communicate effectively regarding scheduling and work orders.
  • Provide data and analysis to resolve conflicts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes.
  • Facilitate meetings to gather input on scheduling improvements.
  • Participate in discussions and negotiations.
  • Develop and deliver information about facilities programs.
  • Adhere to all lab policies and procedures.

 

What is Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years experience in facilities maintenance scheduling OR Master’s degree and 3+ years experience OR an equivalent combination of 9 years of experience and higher education.
  • Develop and implement scheduling processes.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Knowledge of building trades, property management, craft skills, and engineering or comparable industry. 
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) with all levels of an organization. 
  • Clearly convey high-value complex information and to create high-level reports, presentations, and analyses for a range of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Highly skilled in time and task management and able to successfully manage multiple activities, goals, and objectives. 
  • Able to implement strategies, work plans and directives in a cost-effective, collaborative and, efficient manner. 
  • Knowledge of disaster planning, emergency preparedness, and general facility safety, including federal, state, and other applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and guidelines. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office, G-Suite, Databases, or Facilities Management systems at a level of competency to effectively run reports, analyze data, and create presentations. 

 

Notes:

  • This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.
  • The Scheduler is expected to pay $122,400 - $138,000 annually, which fits within the full salary range of $97,284 - $164,196 annually for the job classification of G91.3.
  • Salary for this position will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, certifications, plus also aligned with the internal peer group.
  • It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

  • Work will be primarily performed at: Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, 1 Cyclotron Road, Berkeley, CA.
